Abstracts Guidelines:


To include your presentation in the program book, you must register by September 10, 2018.

Abstract submission will be carried out using the electronic platform only. Note that logging within the electronic platform is required prior to abstract submission. Enter in the personal area,create a password to access the portal of registration. Password must be between 6 and 8 digits long. Once you have logged in the personal area you will find the abstract submission instructions on "Send Abstracts" Menu.

Please, read carefully the Abstract Submission Guidelines. 



The areas we will give special attention to are:

  • practices of caring approaches and character education
  • moral leadership
  • civic engagement
  • family education
  • other topics related to these areas


Abstracts can be submitted in English, Catalan or Spanish.


  • All registrations for the full conference include an AME membership and one year's subscription to the Journal of Moral Education.
  • The posters will have maximum dimensions of 120 cm high  (47in) by 85 cm (33in) wide.
  • Orientation: Vertical

  • Please make sure that all text can be easily read from 3-4 feet away. In general, the poster should be designed to offer an overview of your study or program. You will have the opportunity to stand by your poster and answer questions from conference delegates. We ask that you do not bring paper handouts or copies of papers, but that you offer to email them to those who are interested.
  • Please plan to bring your printed poster to the conference. We will have materials to either tape the poster to a wall or boards on easel.


Title of the Proposal

Selection of Presentation Format:

  • Paper Presentation: These are individually submitted proposals that will be grouped thematically by the Program Committee. The Program Committee will assign a Chair for these sessions.
  • Poster Presentations: Posters will be displayed in a single 60-minute session, during which presenters will be available to discuss their work informally and answer questions.
  • Paper Symposium: Symposia are also 90 minute sessions. Symposium proposals will normally include three [up to four] papers organized thematically and a symposium chair, typically the organizer. Discussants are optional but are discouraged if this precludes interactions with audience members, and especially if the symposium has four speakers.


Full name, title, affiliation and email address of all co-authors. Identify the corresponding author.

Attach one proposal per submission. Re-enter the system to submit more than one proposal. 

Quotations and references should be cited using APA style. It is not necessary to have a lengthy reference list.

Provide an abstract of up to 100 words. This will be printed in the program.

For review purposes, provide a file with 500-word summary of your poster or paper presentation. References are included in the 500 word limit.

The system will allow you to upload it in this formats: word .docx, .doc., and .pdf.

Abstract submission deadline: Extended until April 21st 2018

Notification of acceptance / rejection: from June 15th

Symposia Submissions: 

For symposia submissions:  In the abstract, provide a maximum of 2000 words which includes a 500-word (or less) summary of each individual paper as well as a 250-word rationale for the symposium as a whole. References are included in the word limits. 

Provide the primary disciplinary focus of your paper (e.g. psychology, philosophy, education). If symposium proposals are interdisciplinary, please indicate this in your submission.

Provide information about your likely media/AV requirements. For media presentations, please additionally supply details of format, length, and style.

Notes: To ensure blind review, please do not include names in the sumary.  Please do attach a file that includes the names of each presenter and the title of their presentation.

Pre-Conference Workshop Proposals:

Workshops take place outside the main conference period. Workshops offer an interactive environment to explore issues in greater depth.

The workshop will be held Wednesday, November 7th and will typically last 3 hours. If you have a proposal for a workshop, email the title, the names and institutional affiliation of the workshop leaders and a brief (up to 500 word) description of the proposed workshop to  secretary@ame2018.net

Please title the email “AME18 WORKSHOP PROPOSAL.” See below for the required format.

All proposals must be written and presented in English.

Full name, title, affiliation and email address of all leaders.

Attach the description in Word (.doc or .docx).

Indicate the length of your workshop (maximum 3 hours).


Plan to bring your printed poster to the conference.We will have materials to either tape the poster to a wall.

The technical secretariat offers a printing service that you can reserve from your personal area.

The deadline to apply for the service in your personal area and send the poster to the technical secretariat by e-mail is: October 29 th.
